Dear Mr. Harrison,
I am writing to formally request a reduction in my current working hours so that I may undertake a part-time study program.
As you may know, I have been continually looking for ways to further my professional development within the company. I have recently been accepted into a part-time Master’s program in Data Analytics at the local university. Pursuing this degree will allow me to significantly enhance my technical skills, but it requires a dedicated time commitment.
To accommodate my upcoming class schedule, I would like to propose reducing my hours from a full-time, five-day week to three days a week. Ideally, I would work from Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This arrangement would leave my Thursdays and Fridays entirely free to attend seminars and complete coursework.
I firmly believe that undertaking this qualification will directly benefit our department. In recent years, a growing number of tourists travel to famous landmarks primarily to capture self-portraits, often ignoring the historical, cultural, or natural significance of the site itself. This superficial approach to tourism is largely driven by the pervasive influence of social media, and I consider it to be a distinctly negative trend that detracts from the true value of travel.
The primary catalyst for this behavior is the meteoric rise of visual social media platforms, such as Instagram and TikTok. Modern society places a heavy emphasis on personal branding and digital validation. Consequently, many individuals feel a compelling need to curate an idealized online persona to project a successful and exciting lifestyle. Visiting a renowned destination, therefore, becomes less about personal enrichment and more about acquiring digital proof of travel to garner “likes” and online approval. Furthermore, the ‘fear of missing out’ (FOMO) propels tourists to replicate viral photos they have seen online, effectively reducing majestic landscapes or profound monuments to mere backdrops for their selfies.
This selfie-centric culture is undeniably detrimental for several reasons. Firstly, it deprives the traveler of a genuine, immersive educational experience. By viewing a landmark exclusively through the narrow lens of a smartphone screen, visitors fail to appreciate the atmosphere, architectural nuances, or the profound history of the location. Secondly, this fixation often leads to disrespectful and disruptive behavior. I consider it to be a very negative arising impact because it detracts people from the true value of travel.
Firstly the main reason for this is because of the growing trend on TikTok users, social media influencer, blogger mindset directed on people.
The society also plays a big role on this, making the young people contend you can take portraits in places where it does not add any values to their life. There are places around the world which has restrictions, trepasses. However, because of what they see bloggers doing, they implement it to their daily lifestyle. Travelling to famous destinations should be places to have memories, especially with families. But because of the present social media influencer, TikTok bloggers, it has becomes less educational or fun. In recent times, young people have travelled to destinations with out approval from their legal guardians or parents.
However, it is good to travel to different places as families who are having a reunion, and take pictures of places, destinations they might have visited, to have memories saved. Moreover, it gives them a sense of connection as a family.
In conclusion, it is true more tourist visitors travel to famous places to take pictures of themselves, but it should be for a right reason. i consider it to be a negative impact on people to travel to destinations all for the sake of a blogger or social media influencer.

At present, taking photograph to every tourist destination has become increasingly popular. Some people are more active in photographs rather than understanding it’s history. I strongly believe that this is a negative trend because of the significance of photography to every culture.
Capturing beautiful moments in every place is amazing. Priceless memories that count. Visiting a divine and cultural structure is a place to wonder. Taking photographs without understanding the heritage of the past is a negative trend. For the reason is, some people post a photograph for social content, a platform like Facebook or TikTok. A trend to show off some touristic attraction or even bragging the places they visited. Photography does not only focus on capturing moment, but also, it tells a story. Historical places like temples, old churches and ancestral houses are the preserved image of every century.
Additionally, a tourist without understanding the history seems to be disrespectful. There are some instances that photography is used as a mere advertisement in social media, for example, to market the well-fare of its environment and attract more tourist for an expedition. There are times that taking photographs became aggressive and dangerous. Looking for a better angle or lightning would be challenging. A tourist with an unmindful and careless behavior will lead to accident.
Therefore, I conclude that, capturing every single moment is beautiful, but tourist must be aware and cautious in taking photos. This is why hiring tourist guide is important to every tourist destination. A tourist guide aimed to keep your journey safe, accompanied, entertained and keep your experience memorable.
